TUMcard
The multifunctional chip card serves as an employee ID, accompanying our staff during their employment at TUM and confirming to third parties the existence of an ongoing employment or service relationship at TUM. It also includes a payment function (cash card) for the cafeteria and serves as a replacement for the library card. The application for the PersonalCard is free at all locations and is done by uploading a passport photo as per the instructions:
After receiving the card, the validity must be updated by the employee at the validation stations at the locations. The information strip on the card is printed with the current validity date. The validity date is also set in the chip. For employees with fixed-term contracts, the current expiration date is printed on the PersonalCard during the first validation. If the employment relationship is extended, the respective employee must again update the card at the validation device. A new validity period will then be printed.
Validation station in the Department of Chemistry
The validation station is located next to the entrance to the CIP pool (CH21019) opposite the Hans Fischer lecture hall (CH21010).
Additional validation stations on campus
On the left side of the central corridor of the Mechanical Engineering building, you will find two machines between Courtyard 1 and Courtyard 2, behind a column near the lockers. Two additional machines are located in the entrance area of the Computer Science building on the left side (past the cafeteria and restrooms) in a recessed wall. Another machine is situated in the Chemistry building, at the entrance of the Chemistry CIP pool. Another machine is in the foyer of the Physics building. There is also a machine in the new building of Electrical and Information Technology.
