Organizational Structure of the TUM School of Natural Sciences

The TUM School of Natural Sciences stands for scientific excellence and innovative teaching – supported by a clear, future-oriented structure.
At the top is the Executive Board, consisting of the Dean and four Vice Deans, who are responsible for key areas such as research, education & teaching, IT, and talent management & diversity. Three strong departments – Bioscience, Chemistry, and Physics – form the academic backbone of the School.

The organization is supported by a dedicated School Office, which efficiently manages all operational processes through specialized teams, covering areas such as communications, talent development, and academic advising.

The governance of the School is carried out by the School Executive Board, the School’s central leadership body. It is composed of the Dean (as chair), the Vice Deans, and the Heads of the Departments.

Three strong departments – Bioscience, Chemistry, and Physics – form the academic backbone of the School.

The organization is supported by a dedicated School Office, which efficiently manages all operational processes through specialized teams – from communications and talent development to academic advising.
