The German Chemical Society (GDCh) has awarded the Christel and Herbert W. Roesky Prize 2025 to Prof. Shigeyoshi Inoue of the Technical University of Munich. The €10,000 prize honors Inoue’s outstanding research in transition metal and main group chemistry, particularly his innovative work in the molecular chemistry of silicon and aluminum compounds.

Prof. Inoue's research focuses on main group elements of groups 13 to 15 of the periodic table, with the aim of developing novel compounds with exceptional structures and properties. He places special emphasis on low-coordinate, highly reactive complexes that have the potential for sustainable applications in synthesis and catalysis.

The official award ceremony will take place on September 29, 2025, during the GDCh Science Forum Chemistry (SFC) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
