Materials researcher Prof. Jennifer L.M. Rupp (TU Munich) was elected to the Board of Directors of the Materials Research Society (MRS). Starting 1 January 2026, the Cluster of Excellence e-conversion spokesperson will have a vote in the MRS’s most important decision-making body for a period of three years. The society is one of the world’s most influential organizations in materials science and, together with its board, shapes the strategic direction of the international community.

With her election, Jennifer Rupp will now have a vote in the society’s most important decision-making body. The expert researches solid-state electrolytes, solid-state batteries, and energy materials that are particularly relevant to the energy transition and future storage technologies. Her election gives German energy research a visible voice in the global network of the MRS.

For the e-conversion Cluster of Excellence, the appointment sends a strong signal, underscoring the international importance of modern energy materials. It opens up new opportunities for collaboration and scientific impetus in the field of batteries, interfaces, and sustainable energy storage.
