Prof. Barbara Lechner has been awarded the Ernst-Haage Prize

Research, Chemistry, Award | 21.10.2024

Annually, the Mülheim Max Planck Institutes award the Ernst-Haage Prize to talented young researchers in chemistry. In 2024, the prize goes to Prof. Dr. Barbara Lechner from TU Munich for her work on functional nanomaterials. The award is valued at 7,500 euros.

Prof. Lechner investigates the dynamic restructuring of nanomaterials under realistic conditions using high-resolution scanning tunneling microscopes. After studying chemistry in Innsbruck and completing her PhD in physics at the University of Cambridge, she led research groups before becoming the Rudolf Mößbauer Professor at TUM in 2020.

The public award ceremony will take place on November 15 at 9:30 AM at the MPI for Coal Research. Prof. Siegfried Waldvogel will serve as the keynote speaker.
