The Bavarian NMR Center (BNMRZ), a joint facility of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and Helmholtz Munich, will be one of five core sites in the German Instruct-ERIC Centre for Structural Biology.

Instruct-ERIC is a Europe-wide network that provides access to leading technologies in structural biology. With the BNMRZ’s accession, the German centre – alongside partners in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Berlin, and Jülich – is expanded with highly specialised NMR expertise. Researchers at the BNMRZ develop and employ state-of-the-art solution and solid-state NMR spectroscopy methods to elucidate the structure, dynamics, and interactions of biological macromolecules.

The Munich Instruct-ERIC site is led by Prof. Michael Sattler, Director of the BNMRZ and Chair of Biomolecular NMR Spectroscopy at NAT, will foster international collaboration, driving biomedical innovation using high-end technology infrastructures.

With the integration of the BNMRZ into Instruct-ERIC, researchers from around the world will gain funded access to its unique technologies. This move strengthens Germany’s position as a leading location for integrated structural biology and opens the door to new international collaborations.
