Call for Applications: Evonik Research Prize 2024 (Deadline June 7th)

Research, Bioscience, Chemistry, Award | 04.04.2024

A Research Prize of 1500 €, donated by Evonik Industries, will be awarded for outstanding research contributions by a Ph.D. student in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields at the Absolvententag Chemie to be held at the July 26th, 2024. Postdoctoral fellows, habilitands, wissenschaftliche Räte, or professors may submit nominations to Veronika Pritzl (veronika.pritzl@tum.de) by Friday, June 7, 2024.

With this prize, we will recognize scientifically excellent research of a Ph.D. student in the School of Natural Sciences, documented by publications or patents in the following research areas:

  • Industrial Biotechnology

  • Catalysis (heterogeneous, homogeneous)

  • Drug Delivery Materials

  • High-Performance Polymers / Smart Materials

  • Energy Materials

Eligible candidates are Ph.D. students who will not have received their PhD degree prior to April 30, 2024 and who are anticipated to obtain their degree by the summer of 2025.

The required application documents include a one-page nomination letter, a curriculum vitae, copies of the up to three most important publications, and a copy of the student’s Master/Diploma transcript. Postdoctoral fellows, habilitands, wissenschaftliche Räte, or professors may submit nominations to Veronika Pritzl (veronika.pritzl(at)tum.de) by Friday, June 7, 2024. 

The winner of the prize is required to attend the ceremony at the Absolvententag Chemie.

The award committee, consisting of Cathleen Zeymer (cathleen.zeymer(at)tum.de), Mirza Cokoja (mirza.cokoja(at)tum.de), Hubert Gasteiger (hubert.gasteiger(at)tum.de), and Dr. Christoph Weckbecker from Evonik Industries AG will announce its selection by the beginning of July 2024. The Prize will be awarded to the winner by Dr. Weckbecker at the Absolvententag Chemie.
