Wilhelm Klemm Award for Prof. Roland A. Fischer

The German Chemical Society (GDCh) has awarded the 2025 Wilhelm Klemm Award to Professor Dr. Roland A. Fischer of the Technical University of Munich (TUM).

The award honors his groundbreaking contributions to metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and his dedicated involvement in research, teaching, and science policy. For over 20 years, Prof. Roland A. Fischer (TUM School of Natural Sciences) has been researching functional materials for applications such as gas storage, catalysis, and sensing. His pioneering work includes concepts like "Metals@MOFs," "SURMOFs," and "QDs@MOFs," which have significantly expanded the functional range of MOFs.

The award ceremony will take place on September 29 as part of the GDCh Science Forum Chemistry (SFC) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The forum, held under the motto “Thinking across borders,” offers a platform for international exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration in chemistry.

The Wilhelm Klemm Award, endowed with €7,500, commemorates Prof. Wilhelm Klemm from Münster, whose research significantly advanced inorganic chemistry. The GDCh presents this award to individuals for outstanding achievements in the field of inorganic chemistry.
