Physicist and ORIGINS spokesperson Prof. Stephan Paul from the Department of Physics at the TUM School of Natural Sciences has been awarded the prestigious Distinguished Fellowship by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The award recognizes Paul's outstanding scientific contributions in the field of experimental hadron and particle physics.

The award, which is endowed with 80,000 renminbi yuan (approximately 9,500 euros), is intended to further deepen close scientific cooperation with researchers at CAS.

The Distinguished Fellowship is part of the President's International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI), the international scholarship program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. PIFI supports outstanding researchers from around the world to establish new partnerships, expand scientific cooperation, and strengthen international scientific exchange in the long term.
