Bayerischer Rundfunk visited the TUM School of Natural Sciences to learn more about the research being conducted by Prof. Nicole Strittmatter. At the center of attention is a newly developed method that can identify pathogens within just a few hours—significantly faster than conventional diagnostic techniques.

By combining advanced imaging with mass spectrometry, this approach opens up new possibilities in medical diagnostics, particularly for the rapid detection of infections and antimicrobial resistance.

The BR feature offers fascinating insights into this research and illustrates how scientific innovation at TUM is helping to address pressing medical challenges.
